Jesus has forgiven our sin and shame
When Jesus died on the cross, it was not simply a moral example of sacrifice. It was payment for our sin. God the Son (Jesus) came to earth to die in our place so we could be forgiven. Think Prince Charming meets a homeless debt-wrecked prostitute and he takes her home and loves her and clears all her debts and she becomes an heir with Him all his family wealth!
Woah - That’s Jesus!
Jesus didn’t come to just save us from Hell - but to save us for him. When a person gets married, they don’t get married to get the other person’s stuff - they get married to be with that person forever! So Jesus offers not just forgiveness of sin and shame. That’s only the beginning. He offers a changed life by the Help of God the Holy Spirit - who comes to make His home in our hearts. One day Jesus said, when the time is right, He will come and take us home to be with our Triune God forever.
